Clear Star Aviation is a fast-moving FAA Part 145 repair station at Addison Airport (KADS). We work on everything from piston to turboprop to light/mid jets, and we’re looking for an Avionics Technician who’s solid, dependable, and takes pride in clean installs and clean paperwork.

What you’ll do

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and test aircraft avionics systems and components

  • Perform avionics upgrades, retrofits, wiring repairs, and harness fabrication

  • Use wiring diagrams/schematics to diagnose faults efficiently (and correctly)

  • Conduct operational checks, pitot/static checks as applicable, and return-to-service testing

  • Document work performed clearly and accurately (logbook entries, work orders)

  • Coordinate with maintenance/inspection teams to keep projects moving and customers happy

  • Maintain a safe, organized work area and follow shop procedures and quality standards

What we’re looking for (3–5 years)

  • 3–5 years hands-on avionics experience in GA, turboprop, and/or business aviation

  • Comfortable troubleshooting (not just swapping boxes)

  • Strong wiring skills: crimping, soldering (as needed), routing, lacing, shielding, terminations

  • Familiar with common test equipment (DMM, ramp testers, etc.) and avionics tooling

  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, installation manuals, and service docs

  • Reliable, team-oriented, and able to manage priorities in a busy shop

Preferred aircraft experience (make/model)

  • Previous Part 145 environment experience
