Pay Rate: $48.00 HR
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week

Position Overview
Our aerospace and defense client is seeking a highly experienced Avionics Technician IV to support aircraft platform integration, avionics installation, system modifications, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities. In this role, you will perform advanced avionics work in accordance with FAA, FCC, and company standards while supporting the integration of mission-critical aircraft systems.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with aircraft wiring, avionics installations, electrical troubleshooting, and interpreting technical documentation. This position requires a self-motivated professional capable of working independently while providing technical guidance to junior team members and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform installation, maintenance, modification, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft avionics systems and components.
  • Support aircraft platform integration efforts, including avionics upgrades, modifications, and system enhancements.
  • Route, install, terminate, and repair aircraft wiring and harness assemblies according to engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and engineering publications to complete installation and maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct functional testing and operational verification of avionics systems and equipment.
  • Perform advanced soldering, crimping, connector installation, and wiring repair using industry-standard techniques.
  • Troubleshoot avionics and electrical system discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain and utilize avionics test equipment, tooling, technical manuals, and support documentation.
  • Ensure all work complies with FAA, FCC, customer, and company standards.
  • Document maintenance activities, inspections, modifications, and testing results accurately.
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives and quality assurance activities.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced technicians as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Typically 10+ years of relevant avionics maintenance, aircraft electrical systems, or avionics integration experience.
  • Advanced experience in:
    • Avionics maintenance
    • Aircraft wiring installation
    • Wiring repair and troubleshooting
    • Wire routing per technical drawings
    • Avionics installation tooling
    • Soldering and crimping techniques
  • Strong ability to read and interpret:
    • Technical schematics
    • Wiring diagrams
    • Blueprints
    • Technical manuals
    • Engineering publications
  • Ability to perform detailed aircraft wiring and avionics installation activities with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess personal tools in good working conditions.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with FCC regulations and communications systems.
  • FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL).
  • Experience mentoring and guiding junior technicians.
  • Basic knowledge of:
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Spectrometers
    • Pitot-static test equipment
  • Aerospace and Defense industry experience.
  • U.S. Department of Defense program experience.
  • Military aviation maintenance or avionics background.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
