JOB SUMMARY

The AVL Technician will deliver high-quality audio, visual, and lighting experiences for all live events, productions, and special functions. This position is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of all AVL systems to ensure flawless event execution. The technician must combine technical expertise, strong customer service, and a commitment to excellence, while working closely with event staff and other technicians to support reliable equipment performance, efficient operations, and exceptional guest experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set up, operate, and maintain audio, visual, and lighting equipment for events.
  • Collaborate with event coordinators and other techs to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Performs regular equipment inspections and maintenance of all systems (audio consoles, projectors, screens, lighting rigs, control systems, etc.).
  • Assist in programming lighting, sound, and video cues as needed.
  • Stay informed on industry developments and new technologies.
  • Maintain accurate records of setups, maintenance, and equipment usage.
  • Ensure equipment is properly secured, organized, and stored after use.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests and staff, always maintaining a courteous, professional demeanor and positive representation of Saracen Casino Resort.
  • Adhere to all company, departmental, and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Attend training sessions and team meetings as required.
  • Assist with additional projects and duties as assigned. Duties, responsibilities, and expectations are subject to change as needed.
  • Work hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays in accordance with a 24-hour operational schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.
  • Previous experience in audio, visual, and lighting production or a similar technical role.
  • Proficiency in operation of professional AVL systems including digital audio consoles, lighting control boards, and video projection equipment.
  • Experience with video switching and multimedia or network integration preferred.
  • Strong understanding of signal flow, acoustics, and sound/lighting design principles.
  • Knowledge of DMX, Dante, HDMI, electrical systems, and other common AVL standards and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Excellent communication, organization, teamwork skills, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Technical certifications in audio engineering, lighting design, or AV integration preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Audio/Visual Technology, Sound Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs.) and work at heights when required.
  • Must have a professional appearance, a strong work ethic, and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and respond to verbal/visual cues.
  • Ability to resolve problems or conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Employment contingent upon successful completion of background check and drug screening.
