Title: AVP, Commercial Real Estate Lending

ABOUT THE ROLE

This AVP-level opportunity sits within the Commercial Real Estate lending group of a well-established financial institution, offering end-to-end ownership across the full CRE loan lifecycle from origination and underwriting through credit approval, documentation, and post-lending portfolio management. The role covers a diverse range of property types including multifamily, office, retail, industrial, and hospitality assets across gateway markets, with exposure to term, value-add, and construction lending structures. It's an excellent fit for a credit-trained CRE professional who thrives in a relationship-driven environment and is ready to take on meaningful portfolio responsibility with direct client and credit committee interaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage the full commercial real estate lending process including opportunity identification, due diligence, pre-screen memo preparation, term sheet negotiation, credit memo preparation, credit committee presentation, loan documentation review, and closing management
  • Conduct detailed credit and cash flow analyses, financial and industry analyses, and risk assessments for prospective CRE transactions across multifamily, office, retail, industrial, and hospitality asset classes
  • Evaluate creditworthiness of borrowers;verify appropriate pricing, loan terms, and profitability requirements are achieved on all transactions
  • Coordinate and perform property site inspections and review of third-party reports as part of the underwriting process
  • Maintain regular client contact, develop new business opportunities, and expand the network of customer and business partner relationships to grow the loan portfolio
  • Manage post-lending monitoring of the existing portfolio including annual loan reviews, covenant compliance, loan tickler maintenance, and early identification and resolution of loan performance issues
  • Coordinate with Risk Management for credit approvals and respond to home office credit inquiries
  • Ensure all loan documentation is consistent with approval terms and properly executed;manage closing process and clear outstanding loan exceptions in a timely manner
  • Prepare reports on US CRE activities as required by home office or senior management
  • Ensure full compliance with AML, BSA, KYC, and all applicable federal regulations;assist with audits and provide requested documentation as needed
