ABOUT THE ROLE

This AVP-level opportunity sits within the first line of defense at a well-established global financial institution, serving as the dedicated risk manager responsible for executing and coordinating risk management processes across an assigned business unit. The role offers broad ownership across KRI monitoring, RCSA execution, control testing, issue management, and regulatory coordination making it an ideal fit for a detail-oriented risk professional with banking experience who thrives in a structured, compliance-driven environment and is equally comfortable working independently and collaborating across multiple internal stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implement and coordinate the Risk Governance Framework and risk management policies and procedures within the first line business unit;enforce relevant controls and maintain FLU-specific procedures
  • Monitor business unit adherence to risk management standards and requirements;provide inputs and feedback to the risk management policy development process
  • Propose, modify, and maintain KRIs and thresholds during annual reviews and off-cycle adjustments;monitor, maintain, and report KRIs in accordance with governance requirements;identify and escalate KRI warning line and limit breaches
  • Produce first line risk reporting across applicable risk areas;report findings to senior management and risk committees as appropriate
  • Identify existing and emerging risks impacting the business unit;identify incidents and issues and report to the relevant risk management function
  • Remediate issues or monitor issue remediation per action plans;validate issue closure documentation for business-identified issues
  • Conduct risk assessments including ERA and RCSA;maintain control inventory, process mapping, and related documentation
  • Develop and execute control testing plans;report results, monitor control issue remediation, and validate closure documentation
  • Review application security requirements and conduct security control testing on processes, systems, and applications as applicable;assist in security monitoring investigations as needed
  • Coordinate risk management-related requests from internal and external audit, Head Office, and regulators within the business unit
  • Conduct and consolidate monthly business performance reporting for the branch;conduct research reports and business inquiries as requested by internal departments or Head Office
  • Identify risk management training needs for the business unit and attend required risk management training
  • Support ad hoc assignments, reporting, and other departmental responsibilities including marketing coordination and human resource-related duties as needed
