About the Role: The AVP, Product Strategy and Pricing is a strategic, analytical, and commercially focused leader responsible for loan product design, pricing architecture, and capital markets optimization. This role shapes enterprise profitability and operates at the intersection of product innovation, contractor pricing strategy, financial modeling, and secondary market execution. The position owns the economic framework of loan programs, including product structuring, contractor pricing, gain‑on‑sale optimization, and capital markets performance. The AVP serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, sales, finance, capital markets, and the issuing bank partner.
This position offers a salary range of $225,000 to $250,000 plus an annual bonus. Benefits include medical coverage starting on day one and a company‑matched 401(k). Compensation may vary based on experience, location, and other job‑related factors.
Responsibilities:
Product Strategy and Profitability Ownership
- Own end‑to‑end economic performance of loan products, including pricing strategy, margin targets, and long‑term profitability.
- Lead recurring profitability reviews and budget forecasting across loan products and dealer segments.
- Develop forward‑looking margin projections and scenario‑based sensitivity analyses.
- Establish pricing guardrails and return thresholds aligned with risk appetite and growth goals.
Contractor Pricing Strategy and Commercial Structuring
- Design and oversee pricing frameworks for contractors, including dealer fees, buydown structures, promotional programs, and volume incentives.
- Evaluate custom pricing requests from strategic partners while balancing competitiveness and target returns.
- Advise Sales leadership on pricing negotiations and strategic account structures.
- Ensure pricing consistency, governance, and alignment with profitability objectives.
Capital Markets and Gain‑on‑Sale Optimization
- Own gain‑on‑sale strategy and performance monitoring by dealer, product, and channel.
- Analyze realized versus projected margins and identify key drivers of variance.
- Partner with Capital Markets and Finance to optimize loan sale structures, securitization strategies, and secondary market pricing.
- Prepare portfolio analytics and pricing performance materials for investor and capital markets discussions.
- Support warehouse, seasoning line, and liquidity strategy with treasury and banking partners.
New Product Development and Governance
- Lead design, financial structuring, and launch of new loan products and program enhancements.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Risk to update loan agreements, pricing sheets, and program documentation.
- Ensure new products meet return thresholds, regulatory standards, and operational readiness.
- Drive innovation in product structures to improve competitiveness and capital efficiency.
Competitive Intelligence and Market Positioning
- Oversee competitor rate card monitoring, promotional tracking, and structural product analysis.
- Maintain a centralized pricing intelligence database.
- Provide leadership with insights on market trends, pricing shifts, and competitive dynamics.
Bank and Liquidity Partner Management
- Manage seasoning line and issuing bank relationships from a performance and reporting perspective.
- Monitor balances, aging, eligibility metrics, advance rates, and covenant compliance.
- Ensure accurate reporting and alignment with contractual obligations.
- Support discussions on capital capacity, pricing grids, and program expansion.
Cross‑Functional Leadership
- Serve as a liaison between Product, Sales, Finance, Capital Markets, Risk, Compliance, and external partners.
- Translate complex financial analytics into clear executive‑level insights.
- Build scalable pricing and profitability infrastructure to support growth.
- Mentor and develop junior analysts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS Finance, or related field) preferred.
- 6–10+ years of experience in consumer lending, home improvement finance, fintech, specialty finance, or structured products.
- Deep expertise in loan economics, gain‑on‑sale accounting, pricing strategy, and secondary market execution.
- Experience with securitizations, forward flow agreements, warehouse lines, and bank partnership models.
- Strong background in financial modeling, portfolio analytics, and P&L ownership.
- Advanced Excel proficiency; Python or analytics tools preferred.
- Ability to present complex financial analyses to executives and external stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance growth and profitability.
- High analytical rigor, strategic thinking, and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to operate in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
