Childcare Worker – Overnight (Awake Shifts)

Latham Centers, a world-renowned leader in supporting children with complex special needs, is seeking compassionate and dedicated Childcare Workers. In this role, you’ll provide a safe and supportive environment during evening activities and overnight hours. You’ll engage directly with students, ensuring they feel secure, valued, and ready for a restful night. Location: Brewster, MA
Compensation: $20.96 – $22.68 per hour
Schedule: Multiple Available

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate issues impacting students and program operations to the team and supervisor
  • Assist in the preparation of IEPs, annual, and semi-annual assessments
  • Maintain logs and record behavioral progress
  • Monitor visuals from cameras to ensure student safety
  • Provide informal counseling and support to students
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for students
  • Track student clothing, including seasonal rotation
  • Participate constructively in team meetings and supervision
  • Implement laundry schedules, chore charts, and shower schedules
  • Maintain confidential student information
  • Provide therapeutic crisis intervention as needed
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • One year experience in human services or with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required
  • Ability to safely handle children/individuals in crisis situations with compassion
  • Ability to physically intervene in extreme behavior situations
