Job Description

Our Client is looking for an AWS Architect to define and guide secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions for healthcare applications and enterprise platforms.The architect will work with application teams, infrastructure, security, networking, DevOps, and business stakeholders. This person should be able to set the technical direction, create practical architecture designs, and guide engineering teams through implementation.

Responsibilities

• Define target-state AWS architecture and cloud-modernization roadmaps.

• Design highly available, scalable, fault-tolerant, and secure AWS solutions.

• Create architecture diagrams, deployment patterns, technical standards, and implementation guidance.

• Design multi-account AWS environments using Organizations, Control Tower, and landing-zone practices.

• Define architecture for EC2, Lambda, ECS, EKS, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, and other AWS services.

• Design network architecture using VPCs, Transit Gateway, Route 53, Direct Connect, VPN, and private endpoints.

• Establish security patterns using IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, WAF, GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail, and AWS Config.

• Define infrastructure-as-code standards using Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Design CI/CD, container, serverless, monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster-recovery solutions.

• Lead migrations and modernization of legacy and on-premises applications to AWS.

• Review application and infrastructure designs and provide technical direction to engineering teams.

• Conduct architecture reviews and help resolve complex performance, networking, security, and integration issues.

• Define cloud-governance, compliance, resiliency, and cost-management standards.

• Work with security and compliance teams to protect PHI, PII, and other sensitive healthcare information.

• Support technical roadmaps, proofs of concept, and platform-modernization initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud architecture, application architecture, or enterprise technology.

• 6+ years of experience designing and implementing AWS solutions.

• Strong architecture experience with compute, networking, storage, databases, containers, and serverless services.

• Experience designing multi-account AWS environments and cloud landing zones.

• Strong knowledge of VPC, IAM, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS, EKS, Route 53, and Transit Gateway.

• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, high availability, backup, and disaster recovery.

• Experience leading cloud migrations and application-modernization initiatives.

• Ability to explain architecture decisions to both engineering teams and business stakeholders.

• Experience guiding multiple engineering teams through implementation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare or health insurance experience.

• Strong understanding of HIPAA, PHI, PII, and healthcare-compliance requirements.

• Experience with hybrid-cloud connectivity, Direct Connect, Control Tower, and AWS Organizations.

• Knowledge of AWS Well-Architected Framework and cloud cost optimization.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional certification.
