IDR is seeking an AWS Cloud Architect to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in McLean, VA or Memphis, TN. This role involves designing and building next-generation cloud data platforms in a leading organization within the digital solutions and data management industry.
Position Overview for the AWS Cloud Architect:
- Responsible for designing and documenting AWS cloud database architectures that support performance, scalability, availability, security, governance, and cost optimization.
- Lead the modernization and migration of legacy on-premises databases and data platforms to AWS cloud services.
- Architect and optimize data solutions using AWS services such as Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, Amazon Redshift, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon S3, AWS Glue, and Amazon Athena.
- Develop architecture standards, reference patterns, runbooks, and operational best practices.
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, security, governance, resiliency, and compliance requirements are met.
Requirements for the AWS Cloud Architect:
- Hands-on experience designing AWS data/database architectures.
- Strong experience with AWS database services like RDS, Aurora, and Redshift.
- Proven expertise in migrating legacy/on-premise databases to AWS using services such as AWS DMS.
- Deep understanding of data modeling, indexing, partitioning, and query/performance tuning.
- Experience with AWS data lake architecture involving S3, Glue, Athena, and Redshift.
