    Overview

We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to design, develop, and implement scalable, cloud-native applications that support enterprise initiatives. This role will serve as a technical leader, partnering with development teams, DevOps, and business stakeholders to architect modern AWS solutions while mentoring team members on cloud best practices and AI-assisted software development. The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on development expertise with strong cloud architecture experience, enabling the delivery of secure, high-performing, and maintainable applications in an AWS environment.

    Duties
    • Design and architect scalable, cloud-native applications using AWS services including ECS, RDS, ALB, Route 53, CloudWatch, and containerized microservices.
    • Develop modern front-end applications using ReactJS and TypeScript.
    • Build and maintain back-end services using Python, Flask, SQLAlchemy, and PostgreSQL.
    • Design, optimize, and maintain relational and NoSQL database solutions.
    • Implement workflow orchestration solutions using Temporal or similar technologies.
    • Collaborate with DevOps teams to develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting automated testing and deployments.
    • Work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical architecture and solution designs.
    • Develop system specifications, technical documentation, application interfaces, and implementation playbooks.
    • Establish architecture standards and ensure solutions adhere to functional, technical, security, and performance requirements.
    • Coordinate with software development teams to ensure applications meet business objectives and architectural standards.
    • Monitor project progress, provide status updates to leadership, and identify project risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
    • Create feature specifications and technical design documentation.
    • Support unit, integration, user acceptance, performance, and load testing activities while assisting with issue resolution.
    • Mentor developers and technical staff on AWS cloud-native technologies, architecture best practices, and application support.
    • Lead knowledge transfer sessions to improve team capabilities and operational readiness.
    • Establish AI-assisted development practices using tools such as Claude Code or AWS Kiro, promoting responsible adoption and effective software development workflows.
    Required Skills
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
    • 8+ years of experience developing applications in AWS cloud environments with hands-on software development expertise.
    • 8+ years of experience architecting and developing cloud-native applications using AWS services.
    • 8+ years of experience developing front-end applications using ReactJS and TypeScript.
    • 8+ years of experience programming with Python.
    • 8+ years of experience developing applications using the Flask framework.
    • 8+ years of experience building containerized applications and microservices architectures.
    • 8+ years of experience using SQLAlchemy ORM.
    • 8+ years of experience working with PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases.
    • 8+ years of experience implementing cloud security best practices.
    • 8+ years of experience with AWS services including ECS, RDS, ALB, Route 53, CloudWatch, and sidecar container patterns.
    • 4+ years of experience using AI-assisted coding tools or coding agents, preferably Claude Code or AWS Kiro, with the ability to evaluate AI-generated code and apply appropriate engineering judgment.
    • Strong understanding of application architecture, system integration, and cloud-native design patterns.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, mentoring, and technical leadership skills.
    Preferred Skills
    • Experience with Temporal or similar workflow orchestration platforms.
    • Full-stack development experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-scale AWS cloud applications.
    • Experience establishing AI-assisted software development standards, prompting strategies, governance, and code review practices.
    • Knowledge of secure and responsible AI adoption, including data privacy, intellectual property protection, and human review processes within regulated or public-sector environments.
    • Experience mentoring development teams and leading technical knowledge transfer initiatives.
    • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks, performance testing, and CI/CD best practices.
