AWS (CWI) Welding Inspector (First and Second Shift)

Join a pioneering manufacturing facility as a crucial member of the quality assurance team, specializing in structural racking systems. This position plays a vital role in overseeing and documenting manufacturing processes to ensure all operations comply with industry standards and internal quality benchmarks.

Responsibilities for this role include actively engaging with various production activities such as cutting, punching, and welding using GMAW Spray Transfer techniques. Daily tasks encompass thorough inspections of parts and welds, including fit-up checks and the review of welding procedure documents. It's imperative to maintain meticulous records for welder qualifications and ensure alignment with AWS D1.1 standards.

The position involves certifying welders and carrying out overseen destructive testing when needed, along with maintaining all relevant qualification and inspection documentation. Continuously ensuring operational equipment functionality and comprehending fabrication drawings to apply precise inspection methodologies is key.

Collaborate in maintaining the Quality Assurance Manual and necessitate readiness for occasional travel. Applicants must hold AWS CWI or AWI certification, exhibit comprehensive knowledge of AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code, and have experience in manufacturing environments. Proficiency in documentation, quality assurance, and basic computer applications is essential.

Candidates should demonstrate at least five years of practical welding experience, possess a high school diploma (further education is advantageous), and show strong organizational capacity with attention to minute details. A clean driving record and willingness to travel if required are mandatory.
