AWS Data Engineer

• We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS Data Engineer with 9+ years of overall experience in designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise-scale data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS data services, Databricks, Python, and CI/CD automation, along with domain experience in Finance or Life Sciences/Pharma.

• Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines on AWS.

• Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows using AWS Glue, Databricks, and Python.

• Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to support efficient deployment and release processes.

• Design robust data architectures that support business intelligence, analytics, and reporting needs.

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.

• Optimize data processing pipelines for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.

• Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards, particularly within Finance or Life Sciences/Pharma environments.

• Mentor junior engineers, perform code reviews, and promote engineering best practices.

• Participate in architecture discussions and recommend modern data engineering solutions.

• Work onsite at the Gilead Santa Monica office three days per week to support team collaboration and project delivery.
