Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a creative, high-judgment public relations professional with exceptional storytelling instincts and deep media relationships to drive communications programs for the AWS Partner Network. The right candidate is a strong writer who can translate complex cloud and AI technology into compelling narratives that resonate with business and technology audiences, and who thrives on building relationships - with reporters, partners, and internal stakeholders alike.

This role is focused on cultivating media relationships, shaping news strategy, and developing joint thought leadership with partners and about AWS Marketplace. You will partner closely with our partners, comprising high-growth startups to established enterprise software companies and consultancies, to tell stories of innovation and customer impact. You will also drive strategic communications for AWS Marketplace, raising awareness of how AWS Marketplaces helps partners grow and scale their business, and customers easily discover, procure, and manage the IT and AI solutions that power their business.

The ideal candidate has a journalist"s instinct for what makes a story matter, the ability to distill highly technical product and business narratives into clear, engaging media pitches and press materials, and the relationship-building skills to earn trusted-advisor status with both reporters and partner executives. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, moving quickly, and managing a high volume of proactive media opportunities.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop and drive proactive media strategy for the AWS partner portfolio and AWS Marketplace - identifying stories, building narratives, and securing meaningful coverage in technology trade, business, and AI/cloud media
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key technology and business reporters, editors, podcasters, and influencers who cover cloud, AI, enterprise software, and the partner/platform network
  • Serve as a skilled storyteller and writer - authoring press releases, media pitches, bylines, talking points, Q&A documents, and thought leadership content that translates technical depth into clear, compelling narratives
  • Partner directly with partner marketing and executive communications teams to develop news moments, launch strategies, and thought leadership programs that elevate both the partner and AWS
  • Shape and execute Marketplace-specific communications programs - driving awareness of AWS Marketplace capabilities, customer and partner success stories, and strategic differentiators
  • Support executive thought leadership, preparing spokespeople for media interviews, developing briefing materials, and identifying opportunities for AWS and partner leaders to contribute to industry conversations

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
