AWS Sr. Cloud Architect

Summit Human Capital is seeking a highly motivated Senior AWS Cloud Architect to support our client in the healthcare technology sector serving high-volume healthcare plan providers. This position has the exciting opportunity to drive cloud infrastructure design, modernization, and compliance within a regulated enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

Requirements:

· 7+ years of hands-on AWS architecture and engineering experience

· Strong experience designing and implementing solutions on AWS

· Python development experience

· Experience with modernization initiatives and cloud migration/refactoring efforts

· Infrastructure-as-Code experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, or similar tooling

· Experience with containers and orchestration technologies such as Docker, ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes

· Strong understanding of networking, IAM, security, observability, and operational excellence

· Experience in healthcare/HIPAA or health-related regulated environments

Desired:

· AWS certifications strongly preferred, especially AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional and AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional

· Product engineering or software development background strongly preferred

· Exposure to AI/GenAI services such as Amazon Bedrock is strongly preferred

Responsibilities:

· Serve as a senior member of the Cloud Center of Excellence and contribute to cloud infrastructure design and maturation

· Advise product development and engineering teams on cloud architecture, delivery, modernization, DevOps, observability, and compliance

· Build, refactor, and maintain Terraform and other artifacts to implement approved cloud designs

· Guide infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD implementation efforts across engineering teams

· Support security compliance by design within regulated enterprise and HIPAA/healthcare environments

· Collaborate with product engineering and software development teams to modernize platforms and applications

The hourly pay range for this position is $90 – $98, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
