Azure API Management (APIM) Developer

CTG is seeking an experienced Azure API Management (APIM) Developer to support our client in a remote contract opportunity. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise designing, securing, and managing APIs within Microsoft Azure environments, with hands-on experience implementing APIM policies, API lifecycle management, and automated deployments. Location: Remote Duration: 11 months Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and manage secure, scalable APIs using Azure API Management (APIM). Configure APIM policies for authentication, authorization, throttling, transformations, and security requirements. Support API lifecycle management including design, deployment, versioning, monitoring, and optimization. Integrate APIM solutions with Azure services and enterprise applications. Automate API Management deployments using Terraform and Azure ApiOps. Troubleshoot API issues and optimize performance, reliability, and scalability. Collaborate with development, architecture, security, and cloud teams to deliver API solutions. Required Skills: 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure API Management (APIM). Strong experience designing, securing, and managing APIs on Azure. Experience implementing APIM policies and API governance practices. Knowledge of API authentication, authorization, and request/response transformations. Experience with Terraform and Azure ApiOps automation. Understanding of API performance optimization and cloud integration patterns. Preferred Experience: Experience supporting enterprise-scale API platforms. Familiarity with Azure cloud services and DevOps practices. Experience managing API security and access control standards. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred. Equivalent technical experience may be considered. The expected base salary for this position ranges from $60.00 to $70.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
