Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Azure Application Modernization Architect to lead enterprise application modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will assess legacy applications, define modernization strategies, and create cloud-native target architectures leveraging Microsoft Azure services.
Responsibilities:
- Assess existing applications and define modernization roadmaps.
- Recommend target-state cloud-native architectures.
- Develop modernization frameworks, patterns, and best practices.
- Drive adoption of Azure cloud services and DevOps practices.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.
- Mentor engineering teams on modernization and cloud-native development.

Required Skills:
- 12 years of IT experience with 6 years in Azure application modernization and architecture.
- Strong experience assessing legacy applications including .NET, Java, Oracle, SQL Server, and enterprise applications.
- Expertise in modernization strategies: Re-host, Re-platform, Refactor, Replace, and Retire.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure App Service, Azure Functions, API Management, Logic Apps, Service Bus, and Event Grid.
- Strong knowledge of Microservices, APIs, Containers, Serverless, and Cloud-Native Architectures.
- Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and Terraform.
- Knowledge of Azure SQL Managed Instance, Cosmos DB, Synapse, Data Factory, and Data Migration Services.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Familiarity with Azure Migrate, App Service Migration Assistant, CAST Highlight, and modernization assessment tools.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and architecture documentation skills.
