Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Azure Architect for a customer-facing, short-term consulting engagement to support Exostar following a recent migration from on-premises infrastructure to Microsoft Azure.
The Azure environment is currently experiencing stability issues and outages across compute, storage, and networking layers, likely due to architectural and design gaps post-migration. The successful candidate will play a critical role in performing an in-depth assessment, identifying root causes, and leading remediation and stabilization efforts.
This role requires strong technical depth, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work directly with customer stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a customer-facing Azure Architecture lead for Exostar
  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the existing Azure environment, including:
    • Compute resources (VMs, scale sets, PaaS services)
    • Storage architecture
    • Networking (VNets, connectivity, security, routing)
    • High availability, resiliency, and scalability design
  • Identify root causes of outages and performance issues
  • Highlight design gaps, misconfigurations, and architectural anti-patterns
  • Develop and present a clear and actionable 30 / 60 / 90-day remediation and stabilization plan
  • Lead and guide hands-on remediation efforts, ensuring:
    • Improved reliability and performance
    • Alignment with Azure best practices and Well-Architected Framework
  • Collaborate with customer engineering, operations, and leadership teams
  • Provide ongoing architectural guidance and best-practice recommendations
  • Document findings, recommendations, and progress for executive and technical audiences

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud architecture, or solutions engineering
  • 4+ years of hands-on Azure architecture experience
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Azure compute, storage, and networking services
    • Azure security, identity, and access management
    • High availability, disaster recovery, and scalability design
  • Proven experience supporting post-migration stabilization and production environments
  • Deep understanding of Azure Well-Architected Framework
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-layer Azure issues
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven experience working in customer-facing consulting roles
  • Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives

Preferred Qualifications
  • Azure certifications (Architect Expert, Security Engineer, or equivalent)
  • Experience with hybrid cloud or complex enterprise migrations
  • Familiarity with operational monitoring, logging, and alerting in Azure
  • Prior experience in regulated or enterprise-scale environments
