Description:
Azure Architect - Leads application and workload migration discovery assessment and planning and drives execution governance. The role partners with application owners, security, and operations to collect technical and business inputs, determine migration readiness, select migration approaches (rehost, refactor, retire, retain), define waves and sequencing, and ensure risks, dependencies, and acceptance criteria are understood.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end migration discovery, build, and validate application inventory, identify owners, capture workload criticality, SLAs, and environment details (prod/non-prod).
Perform migration assessments and readiness analysis, dependency mapping, sizing, constraints, licensing considerations, and identification of migration blockers.
Define migration strategy per workload (e.g., rehost, re-platform, refactor, retire, retain) and produce a clear rationale, risks, and effort assumptions.
Create migration waves and sequencing plans that account for dependencies, business calendars, and cutover complexity; maintain an integrated migration plan.
Experience assessing legacy Azure tenants retained for legal hold, retention, and defining long-term retention strategies aligned to target platforms.
