Role Overview
We are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure / Systems Operations Engineer with strong hands-on experience supporting AWS and Azure environments, infrastructure automation, backup and recovery, IAM, monitoring, security, patch management, and configuration management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Backup & Recovery
- Configure, create, and maintain automated backups according to established policies.
- Perform backup restores using volume attachment methods.
- Support both block-level and file-level backup and recovery.
- Manage backup retention and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
2. Cloud Infrastructure Management
- Manage the lifecycle of AWS and Azure virtual machines, including:
- Start/stop
- Reboot
- Restart
- Snapshots
- Support IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS lifecycle management activities.
- Ensure cloud resources are properly configured, maintained, and monitored.
3. Monitoring & Observability
- Configure and maintain AWS CloudWatch and Azure Monitor.
- Create and manage monitoring alarms, runbooks, and automated alerts.
- Configure automatic alarms for newly provisioned resources.
- Integrate and support Log Analytics, including basic log queries and log shipping.
- Use Dynatrace as the primary infrastructure monitoring and observability platform.
4. Identity & Access Management
- Manage IAM and Active Directory users, groups, and roles.
- Support access provisioning, modifications, and removals.
- Ensure access configurations follow security and organizational standards.
5. Network & Security Management
- Manage AWS Security Groups and Azure Network Security Groups (NSGs).
- Create, modify, delete, and apply security rules.
- Support encryption management and related security services.
- Ensure network and security configurations comply with established standards.
6. OS Patching & Vulnerability Management
- Perform automated OS patching across Windows and Linux environments.
- Apply critical Windows security updates and Linux kernel patches.
- Support zero-day vulnerabilities and patches within required timelines.
- Manage patching based on supplier notifications and Patch Tuesday cycles.
- Maintain patch inventories and patch groups.
- Define and manage maintenance windows.
- Generate patching reports, including available updates and maintenance-window summaries.
7. Incident & Problem Management
- Respond to infrastructure incidents according to documented runbooks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve cloud and infrastructure issues.
- Participate in Problem Management activities and root-cause investigations.
- Provide operational support for recurring infrastructure issues.
8. Configuration Management
- Support configuration management tools and processes.
- Ensure infrastructure configurations align with organizational standards.
- Maintain configuration consistency across cloud and enterprise environments.
- Follow established tools, standards, and operational processes.
