Your Role

Akkodis is seeking an Azure Cosmos DB Developer for a Contract with a client in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate with expertise designing, optimizing, and supporting highly scalable, mission-critical cloud database solutions to ensure performance, availability, and operational excellence.

Rate Range: $49/hour to $53/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Azure Cosmos DB Developer Job Responsibilities include:

• Design, implement, and optimize Azure Cosmos DB solutions for high-volume, mission-critical applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.

• Develop data models, partitioning strategies, indexing policies, and data lifecycle management processes to support efficient data storage and retrieval.

• Monitor and tune database performance by optimizing RU consumption, throughput, latency, query performance, and overall system availability.

• Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to maintain stable and resilient database environments.

• Collaborate with application, cloud, and infrastructure teams to integrate Cosmos DB with Azure services such as Functions, AKS, Event Hubs, Service Bus, and App Services.

• Support operational activities including deployments, schema changes, capacity planning, disaster recovery, backup strategies, documentation, and continuous platform improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.

• 7+ years of software engineering and database development experience, including 3+ years of hands-on Azure Cosmos DB experience in production environments.

• Strong expertise in Azure Cosmos DB, including data modeling, partition key design, indexing strategies, query optimization, RU/s management, change feed processing, and multi-region deployments.

• Experience supporting high-volume, always-on enterprise applications with strong knowledge of Azure cloud services, distributed systems, high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning.

Pay Details: $49.00 to $53.00 per hour
