Azure Data Architect with strong Data Modeling Experience

• We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Architect / Data Modeler with a strong Insurance background to design and implement enterprise-grade, end-to-end data architectures using Azure-native services.
• This role focuses on building scalable, high-performance cloud data platforms, defining robust architectural standards, and translating insurance business requirements into reliable, secure, and cost-optimized data solutions. P&C insurance experience is required.

• Design and implement end-to-end data architectures using Azure-native services.
• Act as both Azure Data Architect and Data Modeler: develop insurance-specific logical and physical data models aligned to business KPIs, underwriting, claims, policy administration, and reporting needs.
• Architect scalable data platforms that support ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and analytics workloads.
• Define and optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Establish and enforce data governance, metadata management, security controls, and architectural standards and best practices.
• Apply distributed data processing principles to large-scale data environments and ensure model performance at scale.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, domain SMEs, data engineers, analytics, and BI teams to translate insurance requirements into maintainable, scalable solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring for data modelling, data engineering, and analytics initiatives.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with:
• Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
• Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Azure Synapse Analytics
• Azure SQL
• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data pipelines (ingestion, transformation, orchestration).
• Strong experience creating insurance-specific data models (policy, claims, billing, rating), with P&C domain experience preferred.
• Solid track record implementing data governance frameworks, data lineage, and architectural best practices.
• Deep understanding of distributed data processing concepts and performance optimization.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills; comfortable working with both technical teams and insurance business stakeholders.
• Experience translating regulatory and actuarial reporting requirements into data model and pipeline designs.

• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and PySpark for large-scale data processing.
• Experience defining standards for Databricks workloads, Spark-based pipelines, and data science model integration with production data platforms.
• Prior experience delivering cloud-based data and analytics initiatives for Insurance (P&C preferred).
• Familiarity with insurance source systems (policy administration, claims management, rating engines) and common data feeds.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in cost optimization for cloud data platforms.
