Position Overview:

Term: 6 Month Contract to Hire 

Location: Hybrid Role – 3 days on site in Dallas, TX 75243 

Pay: $55.00 - $65.00; commensurate with experience  

Hours: Monday – Friday- 8:30 – 5:00 

We are seeking a highly technical Azure Cloud & Security Engineer to lead the administration, automation, and security of our Microsoft cloud environment. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and securing Azure and Microsoft 365 services while driving automation, identity governance, and operational efficiencies across the organization.

The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in Azure infrastructure, cloud security, Microsoft Entra ID, automation, and enterprise networking. This individual will serve as a senior technical resource focused on securing cloud environments, improving operational resilience, automating identity lifecycle management, and supporting modern endpoint and infrastructure technologies.

Azure Cloud Engineering & Administration

• Design, implement, administer, and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure and platform services.
• Manage Azure subscriptions, resource groups, virtual networks, storage accounts, virtual machines, and platform services.
• Implement Azure governance standards, policies, role-based access control (RBAC), and resource management best practices.
• Monitor cloud performance, availability, utilization, and security posture.
• Support Azure migrations, cloud modernization initiatives, and ongoing infrastructure improvements.

Identity & Security Management

• Administer Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access Policies, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), Identity Protection, and Single Sign-On (SSO).
• Design and maintain identity governance and access management processes.
• Implement and monitor Zero Trust security principles across cloud and endpoint environments.
• Manage Microsoft Defender security solutions, security alerts, threat investigations, and remediation activities.
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability management, compliance monitoring, and audit support activities.
• Collaborate with internal security teams to strengthen cloud security posture and reduce organizational risk.

Azure Automation & DevOps

• Develop and maintain automation solutions using PowerShell, Azure Automation, Logic Apps, Functions, and REST APIs.
• Automate provisioning, onboarding, offboarding, licensing, and privilege management processes.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using ARM Templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
• Integrate third-party systems and business applications with Microsoft cloud services.
• Develop operational workflows that reduce manual effort and improve security consistency.

Systems & Infrastructure Administration

• Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, hybrid identity, and Microsoft infrastructure technologies.
• Support disaster recovery, backup solutions, patch management, and business continuity initiatives.
• Troubleshoot complex authentication, networking, infrastructure, and cloud-related issues.
• Participate in architecture reviews and infrastructure planning initiatives.

Networking & Security Operations

• Manage and troubleshoot Azure networking components including VPNs, ExpressRoute, NSGs, Azure Firewall, DNS, and load balancing solutions.
• Support enterprise networking infrastructure, routing, switching, wireless, and firewall technologies.
• Assist with incident response activities and root-cause investigations.
• Monitor security events and implement corrective actions based on security recommendations and best practices.

What you will bring to the team: 

• 5+ years of experience in Systems Administration, Cloud Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
• Strong hands-on Azure administration experience in enterprise environments.
• Experience securing Azure workloads and implementing Microsoft cloud security solutions.
• Expertise with Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, RBAC, Identity Governance, and SSO.
• Experience with Microsoft Defender, security monitoring, vulnerability management, and compliance controls.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
• Experience with Azure Automation, Logic Apps, Functions, or related automation technologies.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts, VPN technologies, DNS, firewalls, and network security.
• Experience deploying and maintaining Infrastructure as Code solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across cloud, security, identity, networking, and Windows platforms.
