Business Analyst / Data Analyst

NYC - Hybrid 3 days a week onsite

12-18 month contract

$60-64/hour W2; Not avilable for C2C or 1099.

Responsible for understanding business needs, analyzing data, and translating requirements into actionable technology solutions. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, data teams, and technology partners to identify opportunities, generate insights, and drive delivery of high-value solutions. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience working with data, emerging AI technologies, and financial or market-related information. This role will offer a potential career path into product ownership and product leadership over time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, processes, and workflows.
• Translate business problems into clear functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform analysis on business, operational, client, and financial datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Partner with stakeholders to define KPIs, success metrics, and reporting needs.
• Work with engineering and data teams to deliver data-driven solutions.
• Create dashboards, visualizations, and presentations that communicate insights and business impact.
• Evaluate opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and GenAI capabilities to improve workflows and decision-making.
• Support Agile teams through backlog refinement, requirements clarification, testing, and solution validation.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role for a minimum of 5 to 7 years.
• Strong requirements gathering, process analysis, and stakeholder management skills.
• Hands-on experience analyzing large datasets and generating actionable insights.
• Experience with visualization and analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Dash, or similar.
• Familiarity with SQL, Python, APIs, and modern data platforms.
• Understanding of financial markets, investment research, trading, or market data is preferred.
• Active user of Generative AI tools and strong interest in emerging AI technologies.
• Familiarity with AI concepts including LLMs, RAG architectures, AI agents, machine learning, and predictive analytics.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge business and technology teams.
