Back of House Manager
Position Summary
The Back of House (BOH) Manager leads all kitchen operations, ensuring every food item is prepared with consistency, quality, and care. This hands-on leadership role oversees food preparation, inventory, training, and kitchen organization while working alongside the team to create an efficient, clean, and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations
- Lead daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
- Ensure recipes, portions, and presentation standards are consistently followed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen.
- Complete daily prep and ensure the kitchen is service-ready.
Inventory & Ordering
- Conduct regular inventory counts.
- Order products accurately while minimizing waste.
- Monitor food costs and maintain proper inventory levels.
Team Leadership
- Train, coach, and develop BOH team members.
- Lead by example and hold the team accountable to Muse standards.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative team culture.
Food Program
- Maintain recipe accuracy and preparation standards.
- Support seasonal menu updates and continuous improvement.
- Look for opportunities to improve quality, consistency, and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Kitchen or food service experience required.
- Leadership experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Passion for food quality, cleanliness, and teamwork.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
