We are a busy, mid-sized, dynamic, and growing CPA firm in the San Fernando Valley seeking a Back Office Accountant to join our team. Our success is defined by exceptional client service, strong technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to support evolving business operations across multiple entities. This role will initially support one client with approximately 9 accounts, with potential to expand to additional clients as the firm continues to grow.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for multiple related entities
  • Record and categorize income, expenses, journal entries, and adjustments
  • Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Maintain QuickBooks general ledgers and charts of accounts
  • Prepare monthly financial reports including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports
  • Support accounts payable processes, vendor communication, and bill payments
  • Assist with accounts receivable and applying customer payments
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and payroll-related accounting entries
  • Monitor financial activity and identify discrepancies or unusual transactions
  • Maintain organized digital financial records and documentation
  • Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and internal team members
  • Support additional bookkeeping and back-office clients as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of bookkeeping or back-office accounting experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of QuickBooks Online/Desktop
  • Experience with multi-entity bookkeeping is a plus
  • Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and sales tax filings
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Professional communication and client service skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
