POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a high performing Mobile Engineering team responsible for building and supporting the backend architecture that powers a globally used mobile application. This role will play a critical part in designing, optimizing, and maintaining scalable backend systems while supporting ongoing modernization efforts across multiple regions.

The ideal candidate is a backend specialist with deep expertise in Python and cloud technologies who thrives in designing robust, maintainable solutions. You will work closely with mobile developers, product leaders, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable services, improve system performance, and support a modular architecture that enables long term scalability and flexibility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs supporting mobile applications

• Architect backend solutions that support global deployment, regional authorization requirements, and future growth

• Integrate backend services with mobile and web applications through RESTful APIs

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to deliver high quality features

• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues across backend systems

• Write clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code following engineering best practices

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to process improvements and technical standards

• Optimize application performance, reliability, security, and scalability across cloud environments

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience with Python as a primary development language

• Strong experience building and supporting cloud based solutions within AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform environments

• Proven expertise designing scalable backend architectures for enterprise applications

• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs, JSON services, and third party integrations

• Proficiency with Git and modern software development lifecycle practices

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to evaluate technical tradeoffs and design sustainable solutions

• Excellent communication, collaboration, ownership, and accountability skills when working with technical and nontechnical teams

LOCATION

• Remote

• Candidates must be located within the Eastern Time Zone or able to align their work schedule accordingly
