Backup & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Position Overview

The Solutions Engineer – Backup & Cloud Infrastructure is responsible for the deployment, management, and support of Razor’s Backup and Disaster Recovery (BDR) services, with a primary focus on protecting customer data and ensuring recoverability. This role leads the implementation, monitoring, testing, and support of backup solutions across on-premises, cloud, virtual, and Microsoft 365 environments.

In addition, the position provides engineering support for Razor’s Nutanix-based private cloud platform, assisting with customer onboarding, infrastructure maintenance, virtualization, and platform operations. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Veeam, Druva, Windows Server, virtualization, and disaster recovery, along with a customer-first mindset and a passion for building resilient IT environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and support Backup & Replication and Microsoft 365 backup solutions.
• Monitor backup jobs, troubleshoot failures, and ensure backup integrity and recoverability.
• Perform data restores, disaster recovery failovers, and annual DR testing.
• Design backup schedules, retention policies, and recovery strategies aligned with customer RPO/RTO objectives.
• Support Razor Cloud (Nutanix) infrastructure, including virtual machine administration and platform maintenance.
• Assist with customer onboarding, infrastructure upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Serve as a Tier 3 escalation resource for backup and cloud infrastructure issues.
• Maintain documentation and contribute to operational standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, service, and sales teams to deliver exceptional customer solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with backup, disaster recovery, or cloud infrastructure.
• Strong experience with Veeam and/or other backup solutions.
• Experience with Windows Server administration and virtualization platforms (Nutanix AHV, VMware, or Hyper-V).
• Understanding of disaster recovery planning, RPO/RTO objectives, and recovery operations.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
• VMCE certification and Nutanix experience are preferred.
