About the Role:
Bagel Chateau is looking for a skilled and passionate Bagel Baker to join our team in Westfield, NJ! If you love the art of scratch baking and take pride in crafting the perfect bagel, this is your opportunity to do what you love every day. Responsibilities:

• Mix, shape, and bake fresh bagels daily from scratch following traditional recipes and techniques
• Operate and maintain commercial baking equipment including mixers, proofers, and deck ovens
• Boil and bake bagels to achieve the perfect crust and texture
• Monitor dough consistency, fermentation, and proofing times to ensure quality and consistency
• Prepare and portion dough batches to meet daily production demands
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary baking environment in compliance with food safety standards
• Assist with inventory management and communicate supply needs to management

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a bakery, bagel shop, or commercial baking environment preferred
• Knowledge of dough mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking techniques
• Ability to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent product quality
• Reliable, punctual, and able to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Food handler certification or willingness to obtain one
