Baker / Pastry Cook / Culinary Graduate

Maricel s Kitchen is hiring a part-time baker or pastry cook to help grow our Filipino and Asian bakery program in East Brunswick, New Jersey.

We welcome bakers and pastry cooks at different experience levels, including recent culinary and pastry school graduates. You must have some hands-on baking experience, but you do not need to know our recipes.

We can teach you how we make our breads, cakes, and pastries. We need someone with good hands, discipline, enthusiasm, and the desire to learn.

This is a part-time position for 2 to 3 days per week, with the chance for more hours as our bakery program grows.

Requirements

Experience with pandesal, ensaymada, cakes, breads, or laminated pastries is a plus. We will teach you our recipes and production methods.

Maricel s Kitchen is a Filipino and Asian heritage restaurant, cooking school, bakery, and catering kitchen. Chef Maricel learned to cook in her Lola s kitchen in Manila and later worked in New York fine dining.

We care about clean work, consistent results, and food made with care. You do not need to know everything on your first day. You must be ready to learn, work hard, and take pride in every item you make.
