    Position Summary:

    The Baker is responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting a variety of breads, pastries, desserts, and other baked goods while maintaining consistent quality, freshness, and presentation. This position follows established recipes and production standards, maintains a clean and organized work area, and helps ensure products are prepared safely and efficiently.

    The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, works well in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in producing high-quality baked goods.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and bake breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, muffins, and other baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
    • Measure, mix, portion, shape, and prepare ingredients accurately.
    • Operate ovens, mixers, proofers, and other bakery equipment safely and properly.
    • Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure products meet quality and appearance standards.
    • Decorate, finish, and package baked goods as needed.
    • Maintain appropriate production levels based on anticipated business needs.
    • Check ingredients and finished products for freshness, quality, and consistency.
    • Properly label, date, rotate, and store ingredients and prepared products.
    • Assist with receiving, organizing, and maintaining bakery inventory.
    • Minimize food waste by following established portioning, storage, and production procedures.
    • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized bakery and work area.
    • Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures at all times.
    • Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and storage areas.
    • Communicate product or supply needs to the appropriate manager or supervisor.
    • Work cooperatively with culinary, service, and other team members to support daily operations.
    • Assist with special orders, seasonal products, catering, or special events when needed.
    • Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards.
    • Be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Requirements & Qualifications:

    • At least two (2) years of previous baking, pastry, culinary, or food preparation preferred.
    • Knowledge of basic baking techniques, ingredients, measurements, and food preparation methods.
    • Ability to follow recipes and production instructions accurately.
    • Ability to safely operate standard bakery and kitchen equipment.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
    • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
    • Will work for extended periods without sitting.
    • The nature of the work may be strenuous, and the work environment may be warm.
    • Required to lift and move heavy items such as cases of provisions and large containers of prepared foods.
    • Food Handler Certification or other required food safety certification.
