Bakery Merchandiser:
Are you a bakery professional with a passion for fresh products, eye-catching displays, and leading high-performing teams? We are seeking an experienced Bakery Merchandiser to support bakery department operations, strengthen product presentation, and help deliver an exceptional customer experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bakery, grocery, food-service, or perishable-department professional to step into a well-compensated, hands-on leadership role. The ideal candidate understands bakery production, freshness standards, merchandising strategy, inventory control, food safety, and team development.
As the Bakery Merchandiser, you will help ensure bakery departments are stocked, organized, visually appealing, clean, and ready to serve customers every day.
Support daily bakery department operations, including production, packaging, product displays, sanitation, and customer service
Create appealing bakery merchandising displays that promote sales, showcase freshness, and maintain brand standards
Monitor product quality, rotation, dating, and freshness to reduce shrink and maintain food-safety compliance
Assist with inventory management, ordering, stock levels, and product availability
Help control labor costs, product waste, and department expenses while supporting sales growth
Train, coach, and support bakery associates on production procedures, customer service, sanitation, and merchandising expectations
Maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment in accordance with company policies and food-safety standards
Work closely with store leadership and bakery team members to maintain department performance, productivity, and customer satisfaction
Ensure bakery cases, displays, work areas, and backstock are consistently organized, stocked, and presentation-ready
Bakery Merchandiser Background Profile:
High school diploma or equivalent required
At least 2 years of experience in bakery, grocery, food service, supermarket perishables, or a related retail environment
Previous experience as a bakery merchandiser, bakery lead, trainer, supervisor, or department team leader preferred
Strong knowledge of bakery production, packaging, merchandising, product rotation, freshness standards, and sanitation procedures
Experience supporting inventory, reducing shrink, and maintaining product quality is highly valued
Ability to lead by example, train team members, and build a positive, customer-focused work environment
Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail bakery setting while balancing multiple priorities
