Plan and execute all activities required to adequately clean and sanitize the facility.
Direct and supervise all sanitation functions for GFB.
Evaluate, prioritize and schedule sanitation functions to insure timely completion of plant clean-up.
Perform frequent on-the-job inspections. Safe working habits. Safe work areas. Quality of workmanship. Effectiveness of sanitation employees.
Check, inspect and verify cleaning processes to assure food processing and packaging equipment and production facility (walls, floors, ductwork, lights, overhead pipes, equipment, etc.,) and exterior area's sanitation complies with Good Manufacturing Practices and other policies including outside auditor expectations and government requirements to assure product safety and customer satisfaction.
Supervise, motivate, train and monitor employees to create an environment where work is performed in a safe, efficient manner.
Develop, monitor and respond to weekly, monthly and other necessary periodic Sanitation and/or Food Safety audits.
Develop, evaluate and recommend changes to continually improve facility and equipment cleaning procedures and minimize any food safety and equipment risk.
Attends meetings that have an impact on sanitation planning and effectiveness, making positive, proactive contributions and recommendations.
Maintain Master Cleaning Schedule, track completion and establish corrective actions as needed.
Maintain cleaning (chemical) supply inventory and ensure safe handling and storage of chemicals. Inform purchasing manager when chemical inventory is low.
Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Required
Conduct visual inspections, read and follow instruction manuals.
Perform moderate lifting (up to 30 lbs.).
Crawl, bend, stoop, climb, balance, reach, walk, push, pull, maneuver in tight quarters, climb on
scaffolding, etc.
Operate hand tools and maneuver various parts with manual dexterity and hand /eye coordination.
Use solvents and chemicals.
Respond quickly to audible pages for cleaning spills, accidents, etc.
Communicate (hearing & speech) with coworkers during shift.
Learn safety and department policies.
Perform primary duties with efficiency and accuracy.
Operate forklift and electric pallet jacks in a safe and responsible manner.
Other Requirements:
2-5 years supervisory experience in the Food Manufacturing Industry.
Ability to read, write and communicate in English. Bilingual preferred
