Baking Assistant (Full-Time)

We are looking for a full-time Baking Assistant to support our growing bakery program across both our Santa Barbara and Carpinteria locations. This is a hands-on, production-focused role working closely with our baking team to execute daily bakes, maintain quality standards, and ensure our pastry case is consistently stocked with fresh, beautiful products.
This position includes a mix of early morning shifts and mid-day shifts (starting around 10:00 AM) and requires flexibility to work at both locations.
Assist with daily bakery production including mixing, shaping, baking, and finishing pastries and baked goods
Support preparation of core and seasonal items (scones, muffins, cookies, loaves, cakes, etc.)
Follow recipes and production systems with precision and consistency
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen workspace
Assist with scaling, portioning, and prepping ingredients for upcoming bakes
Help manage bakery pars and communicate low inventory or production needs
Ensure all products meet Brass Bird quality and presentation standards
Support packaging and stocking of bakery items for service
Full-time position (approximately 30–40 hours per week)
Must be available for a mix of:
Early morning shifts (bakery production)
Mid shifts starting around 10:00 AM
Must be able to work at both Santa Barbara and Carpinteria locations
Weekend availability required
Previous kitchen or bakery experience preferred, but not required
Strong attention to detail and pride in quality and consistency
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
Willingness to learn and grow within the role
Reliable and punctual
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift 25–50 lbs
Comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment
