Bale Room Attendant - Night Schedule

Schedule: 12 hour Nights - 7PM-7AM
$1,000 hiring bonus after 90 days

Job Summary:

The Bale Room Attendant will be primarily responsible for bale room duties, operate and maintain bale room equipment, and perform all bale room waste handling duties as required.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Operate and maintain bale room and equipment.

· Perform bale room preventative maintenance tasks.

· Collect all waste magazines throughout the plant and dispose as required.

· Collect general waste materials within production areas and dispose as required.

· Collect and bale all corrugated cardboard for recycling.

· Collect and prepare various plastics for recycling.

· Inventory bale room and janitorial supplies.

· Shred solid waste and other waste as required.

· Load wastes to be shipped onto the appropriate truck as required.

· Responsible for snow removal, as required.

· May need to transport recyclable materials off site for recycling.

· Demonstrate good housekeeping attitudes and practices.

· Support the CJK Group Core Values effort throughout the Company.

· Adhere to safety policies and procedures, while maintaining an overall awareness of safety within the workplace.

· Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned or required.

 

Basic Qualifications:

· A minimum of a High School diploma or GED/HiSET required.

· Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift license.

· Basic verbal and written communication skills.

· Basic computer skills required.

· Must be detail oriented and able to work well with minimal supervision.

· Ability to learn the job and perform work productively and safely.

· Reliable; good attendance is required.

· Required to work mandatory overtime as needed/team player.

 

Desired Skills and Abilities:

· Previous forklift operation experience preferred.

· Valid driver's license/copy of driving record strongly preferred.

· Ability to obtain DOT medical card for clearance to drive the company truck strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to a maximum of 50 lbs. frequently.

· Continuous standing required.

· Frequent walking and stooping required.

· Occasional sitting, crouching, and reaching/working overhead required.

· Good visual acuity and manual dexterity required.

· Work environment involves exposure to excessive noise, being near moving machinery, and exposure to potential arm and wrist fatigue.

· Must wear hearing protection and safety shoes.
