TITLE: Secondary Band Director

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Professional licensure and a employee of the Harrison County Board of Education

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Principal

SELECTION: The position is filled by the Board of Education upon recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools

SALARY: Per Harrison County Board of Education extra-curricular assignment schedule

FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

• Schedule and conduct all rehearsals.
• Audition, teach and train participants for All-State and Sole-Ensemble Festival
• Perform publicly outside of home-school environment.
• Provide instrumental music for graduation ceremonies if such ceremonies are conducted and required.
• Maintain records, reports and inventories as may be required and submit required information by designated time.
• Accept advice and suggestions in a constructive manner.
• Attend music in-services, workshops, conferences and meetings outside of school time, during the academic year as required to meet obligations.
• Perform at traditional school musical functions as required by the principal.
• Coordinate all activities with the school principal.
• Observes all rules and regulations of the SSAC and observes all county policies.
• Exercise due caution as to safety of students.
• Maintain good public relations with parent and community groups.
• Participate in invitational parades and festivals.
• Participate and assumes a fair share of responsibility for implementing All-County Band Festival.
• May attend state music conferences (WVMEA) (Saturday only).
