Chase Technical Staffing is currently seeking an experienced Band Saw Operator for our client in Elgin, IL. We are looking for a dependable, safety-conscious individual with at least two years of recent band saw operating experience. Candidates who are flexible to work overtime during peak production periods are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate industrial band saw equipment to cut metal materials according to specifications.

  • Monitor equipment performance and ensure quality production throughout each shift.

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and daily equipment inspections.

  • Read and interpret simple blueprints and geometric tolerances.

  • Organize and prepare parts for the next stage of production.

  • Assist with the operation of additional fabrication equipment as needed.

  • Use measuring instruments including tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools.

  • Utilize hand tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, and banding equipment.

  • Work closely with plant management to help maintain inventory of production materials.

  • Produce quality parts while maintaining productivity and following all safety procedures.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Band Saw operating experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and geometric tolerances.

  • Experience using precision measuring equipment including calipers and micrometers.

  • Ability to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions.

  • Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.

  • Forklift and/or overhead crane experience preferred.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to remain focused and productive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Willingness to work overtime during busy production periods.
