Our client, a multi-state law firm, is seeking remote and hybrid Bankruptcy Assistants to join their growing team.
This role performs paralegal level claims and notices workproofs of claim, amendments, payment change and fee noticesunder attorney supervision, with a focus on clean attachments and compliant records. The specialist keeps trustees and clients aligned to prevent downstream issues.
Job Requirements:
- Draft Proofs of Claim (with required attachments), amendments, payment change and fee notices; respond to trustee disbursement issues.
- Maintain precise case records and ensure compliance with client specifications and state/local practice.
- Communicate with servicers/trustees to resolve data gaps or objections; escalate patterns to Senior Analyst.
- Verify amounts and attachments (histories, statements) are complete and internally consistent.
- Track bar dates and create internal draft due reminders.
- Reconcile trustee records vs. firm records when variances surface; document the resolution.
- Maintain client portal updates (status notes, artifact uploads) in the expected cadence.
- Share common issues with the Senior Analyst to improve checklists/templates.
Qualifications:- Demonstrated accuracy with proofs of claim and payment/fee notices; facility with loan histories and escrow details.
- Strong numeric and document reconciliation skills; attachment hygiene and version control.
- Professional communication with servicers/trustees; concise portal notes.
- Organized tracking of multiple bar dates and internal draft?due reminders.
- 13+ years as a bankruptcy paralegal (claims/notices) or equivalent loan servicing legal specialist.
- Multi state claims/notice experience; familiarity with trustee reporting and reconciliation preferred.
- Ability to spot repeat data issues and document fixes for the playbook is preferred.
- Experience keeping client portals current with artifacts and notes is preferred.
- 1-3+ years in bankruptcy claims/notices or loan servicing documentation; multi state exposure preferred.
- Evidence of meeting bar dates and producing clean, return free submissions.
