An established law firm is seeking a Florida-licensed Bankruptcy Attorney with experience representing lenders, creditors, financial institutions, or other interested parties in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings.

This is a remote, work-from-home position; however, the attorney must be physically located in Florida and available for in-person court appearances throughout the state, particularly within the Middle District of Florida. Candidates located near Tampa, Orlando, or Jacksonville are strongly encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate will understand Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy procedures and have experience handling court hearings, contested matters, motion practice, and related bankruptcy proceedings. Strong preference will be given to attorneys with bankruptcy litigation experience involving adversary complaints, appeals, and Chapter 11 matters.

Responsibilities

  • Represent lenders, creditors, financial institutions, and other clients in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Attend in-person bankruptcy court hearings throughout Florida, including proceedings in the Middle District of Florida.
  • Handle contested bankruptcy matters, motions, objections, discovery, and related litigation.
  • Draft and argue motions for relief from stay, objections to confirmation, proofs of claim, and other bankruptcy pleadings.
  • Manage adversary proceedings from complaint through resolution.
  • Assist with bankruptcy appeals and Chapter 11 matters as experience permits.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare motions, briefs, memoranda, and other court filings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, trustees, and court personnel.
  • Independently manage assigned cases, deadlines, hearings, and billable-hour requirements.

Qualifications

  • Active Florida Bar license in good standing is required.
  • Must reside in Florida and be available for in-person court appearances.
  • One to ten years of bankruptcy experience involving Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 proceedings.
  • Strong understanding of federal bankruptcy law, court procedures, and filing requirements.
  • Experience representing lenders or creditors is strongly preferred.
  • Bankruptcy litigation experience involving adversary complaints, contested matters, or appeals is highly preferred.
  • Chapter 11 bankruptcy experience is a plus.
  • Admission to multiple federal jurisdictions is a significant advantage.
  • Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, advocacy, and case-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary of $100,000–$130,000, depending on experience.
  • Eligibility for a discretionary bankruptcy bonus program offering up to $11,500 annually.
  • Minimum annual billable-hour requirement of 1,920 hours.
  • Additional bonus eligibility begins after exceeding 2,100 billable hours annually.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • Remote work with the flexibility to work from home when court attendance is not required.

All applications and inquiries will be handled confidentially. If you are a Florida bankruptcy attorney looking for a remote opportunity with meaningful courtroom and litigation experience, we would like to speak with you. Send your resume to eric.vetter@gogpac.com
