The Banquet Captain works closely with the events, culinary, and front-of-house teams to oversee banquet operations from start to finish. This role ensures all events are executed to the highest standards, while upholding Lyle's culture, mission, and commitment to exceptional guest experiences.

Banquet Captain - Essential Functions
Supervise and assist with the setup, service, and breakdown of banquet functions to ensure smooth execution
Lead, coach, and direct banquet servers and support staff, assigning responsibilities and maintaining service standards
Serve as the primary point of contact between event planners, kitchen, and service teams
Provide exceptional guest service, addressing inquiries, special requests, and resolving issues promptly
Ensure all event details-including food presentation, table settings, and ambiance-meet or exceed standards
Coordinate closely with culinary and service teams to execute event specifications accurately
Monitor event flow and timelines to ensure seamless progression of service and scheduled activities
Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet spaces before, during, and after events
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food handling standards
Assist with training and mentoring team members
Oversee banquet inventory, including linens, tableware, and service equipment
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
1+ year of progressive experience in a hotel, events, or hospitality environment
Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
High school diploma or equivalent required; related coursework is a plus
Valid Alcohol Awareness Certification in accordance with state regulations
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and decision-making abilities
Ability to remain calm, professional, and solutions-focused under pressure
Proactive, team-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail
Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Compensation:
$15.00 per hour plus applicable service charges
