Position Summary

Der Dutchman Sarasota, is seeking a dependable, organized, and customer-service-oriented Office Assistant to support the daily operations of our restaurant office. This position assists the Banquet Coordinator, Catering Coordinator. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, and able to multitask in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • Some Saturdays and holidays may be required based on business and event needs

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Banquet and or Catering Coordinator with event preparation, banquet and or catering paperwork, guest communication, and scheduling
  • Confirmations, invoices, and client follow-up
  • Answer phones and direct calls professionally
  • Greet guests, vendors, and clients in a friendly and professional manner
  • Maintain organized office files and records
  • Coordinate and communicate information between departments
  • Help maintain calendars, appointments, and event schedules
  • Perform general clerical duties including copying, scanning, emailing, and mailing documents
  • Assist with holiday and special event preparation
  • Maintain confidentiality of company and employee information

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous office, hospitality, restaurant, or administrative experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic bookkeeping knowledge helpful
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work in a busy restaurant and office environment
