Overview:

Big Sky Resort is having a moment. Ranked the #2 ski destination in Condé Nast Traveler's 2025 Readers' Choice Awards, named Best Overall Ski Resort in North America by OnTheSnow, and home to the Biggest Skiing in America — 5,850 acres under Lone Peak. And the food program is growing right along with the mountain: 15+ outlets spanning fine dining, chef-driven concepts, on-mountain dining, and a conference and event business that hosts everything from corporate groups to weddings under the big sky. Our kitchens have hosted a restaurant residency by Grant Achatz and The Alinea Group — that's the level we're building toward every day.
As the Banquet Chef, you'll lead the banquet and Convention Services kitchen — producing everything from working breakfasts and coffee breaks to receptions, buffets, plated dinners, weddings, and VIP events. Banquets at Big Sky aren't an afterthought; they're a stage. This is a role for a chef who wants to put creative, memorable food in front of hundreds of guests at a time and land every plate.
Grow With Us
This is a kitchen that invests in its chefs:
- An in-house ACF certification development program — structured outlet rotations, weekly classes, and support through written and practical exams
- Culinary leadership with five-star and five-diamond pedigree, committed to mentorship and career development
- A culinary leadership pipeline built on internal promotion and succession planning
- Career growth opportunities across the Boyne Family of Resorts
- A resort investing in its food program year over year — new concepts, new venues, and chef-driven partnerships
The Montana Life
Big Sky sits an hour from Bozeman and on the doorstep of Yellowstone National Park — and the lifestyle is the real deal, not the brochure version. In winter, 5,850 acres of the Biggest Skiing in America start outside your door, and your ski pass is part of the job. In summer, it's hiking and mountain biking out of the village, blue-ribbon fly fishing on the Gallatin, golf in the shadow of Lone Peak, and long Montana evenings that don't quit until ten. People move here for a season and stay for a decade. If the mountains are part of how you want to live — not just where you want to work — this is the place.
