The Crowne Plaza Union Station Hotel is looking for a skilled Banquet Cook. This position directly contributes to our guest satisfaction as it is perceived in the dining experience. If you are a great team player, we would love to talk with you!

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, production sheets, and banquet event orders (BEOs)
  • Assist with banquet food preparation for large-scale events and functions
  • Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to company and brand standards
  • Maintain proper food temperatures, portioning, and presentation during service
  • Set up and stock banquet kitchen stations before events
  • Communicate with banquet captains, chefs, and kitchen staff regarding timing and event needs
  • Assist with plating and buffet presentation during banquet functions
  • Follow all sanitation, food safety, and HACCP guidelines
  • Properly label, store, rotate, and date food products
  • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, workstations, coolers, and storage areas
  • Assist with inventory, receiving, and stocking when needed
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Support other culinary operations as assigned by management
Skills and Qualifications
  • Previous banquet, restaurant, hotel, or high-volume cooking experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to read and follow recipes and banquet event orders
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Food Handler Certification preferred (if required by local/state regulations)
Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, and fast-paced kitchen environments
  • Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and carrying
