As a banquet server at Mirbeau, you are essential to the guest experience, upholding our Forbes-rated standards by anticipating needs and delivering thoughtful, elevated service. This role is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service during functions and events, ensuring guests enjoy a memorable dining experience through attentive, professional service in a clean and organized event space. Job Responsibilities:
- Guest Experience & Service Excellence
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and departure
- Deliver attentive, anticipatory, and personalized service that aligns with Mirbeau and Forbes standards
- Serve plated meals, buffet items, hors d’oeuvres, beverages, and desserts promptly and courteously
- Refill drinks, replenish food, and attend to guest requests in a timely manner
- Answer guest questions regarding menu items, food preparation, and beverage options
- Assist guests with additional needs or special requests
- Engage guests with genuine hospitality and thoughtful, proactive service throughout the dining experience
- Use refined language, tone, and body language that reflects Mirbeau’s elevated brand and follows the Forbes language standards
- Consistently exceed guest expectations through calm, composed, and detail-oriented service
- Thank guests with sincere, personalized farewells and ensure a lasting positive impression
- Event Execution
- Review event details with the F&B management prior to event
- Set up banquet rooms/venues according to specifications, including tables, chairs, linens, tableware, condiments, and service stations
- Ensure adequate supplies of clean china, glassware, utensils, and equipment
- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, including ingredients, dietary accommodations, and preparation methods
- Communicate special requests, allergies, and dietary needs to the kitchen and management clearly and consistently
- Monitor buffet lines to ensure items are replenished and presented attractively
- Ensure food is delivered on time and maintain clear communication with kitchen staff
- Collaborate closely with banquet management, culinary staff, and fellow servers to ensure smooth event execution
- Keep management informed of guest reactions, feedback, and concerns
- Cleanliness & Safety
- Assist with pre-bussing and clearing table items promptly, ensuring tables remain clean, uncluttered and comfortable, removing soiled tableware and linens throughout and after events
- Maintain clean and well-organized banquet spaces, service stations and venue floor cleanliness throughout the event
- Handle spills promptly and rack dirty dishes
- Follow all food safety guidelines, including allergy awareness and safe food handling
- Adhere to all sanitation and hygiene policies, ensuring guest safety and trust
- Report any intoxicated or disruptive guests immediately to management
- Complete assigned sidework during and after each shift, including restocking and cleaning tasks
- Report equipment needs, shortages, or malfunctions to management
- Professionalism
- Communicate effectively with all team members including bartenders, chef, kitchen staff and management
- Contribute positively to team morale with a composed, professional, and team-oriented attitude
- Maintain polished grooming standards in line with Mirbeau’s elevated reputation
- Ensure proper uniform standards including clean attire and nametag at all times, always arriving on time for all shifts
- Attend all required meetings and trainings as required by leadership
- Represent the Mirbeau brand through excellence in service, appearance and demeanor
Qualifications, Skills & Educational Requirements:
- Professional Experience & Knowledge
- Previous experience in food and beverage service is required; fine dining or elevated hospitality experience strongly preferred
- Prior serving or banquet experience preferred; hospitality or catering experience a plus
- Working knowledge of dining room etiquette, service standards, and hospitality best practices

- Must have the physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and carry trays up to 40 lbs for extended periods

- Must be able to thrive in a dynamic environment requiring movement and multitasking
- Must be comfortable navigating crowded banquet spaces
- Schedule & Availability
- Flexibility with scheduling availability is required- including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Must be available to work on-call or as needed for scheduled events at least once a week
