Description
Position Summary:
As Banquet Houseman Supervisor, you are responsible for overseeing the Banquet set up staff to ensure efficient setup and breakdown of banquet functions. It is your responsibility for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of any banquet rooms, hallways, storage, and service areas. You must routinely inventory and care for banquet supplies such as linens, chairs, plates, glassware, and flatware. You are required to set up the banquet room per the specification of a banquet event order and reset the room to its original state after the event has concluded. Scheduling times are flexible and vary depending on the banquet events.
Essential Job Functions:
Supervise staff including Banquet Housepersons and adjust staffing levels to meet service requirements
Assign specific duties to staff for efficient operations
Set up banquet rooms according to the specifications in the banquet event order
Adjust banquet room layouts during service based on guest requests
Reset rooms to their original state after events conclude
Set up temporary dance floors, stages, tables, and chairs
Check electrical hook-ups for proper working order and tape down exposed cords for safety
Train and educate new team members on the company’s procedures and policies
Monitor and maintain inventory and par levels for even furniture and equipment
Receive delivered supplied and verify correct items and quantities
Comply with health, safety, and hygiene standard and policies
Maintaining the cleanliness of banquet rooms, hallways, storage areas, and service areas
Lifting required approximately 75lbs
Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming event space and food service areas
Following directions from banquet event orders (BEOs)
Following established cleaning schedules and procedures
Assisting other team members as needed
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
Minimum 1 years of experience in banquet operations, event setup, or hospitality management
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and courteously
Strong teamwork mentality and the ability to work collaboratively with others
Physical stamina, including the ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items when necessary
