Position Overview Philo Ridge Farm is seeking a friendly, knowledgeable, and service-driven Bar Manager to lead our bar program and join our hospitality team. This role is central to creating a warm, welcoming guest experience while stewarding a thoughtful, seasonal beverage program that reflects our values of sustainability, craftsmanship, and connection to place. The Bar Manager oversees all service driven aspects of bar operations, including, inventory management, sop creation and implementation, staff support, and day-to-day service. In addition to preparing and serving signature cocktails, this role ensures consistency, efficiency, and hospitality across guest-facing service and dining room bar orders. The Bar Manager greets guests, offers informed recommendations, and mentors team members while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and communication. Philo Road, Charlotte, Vermont, 05445 Responsibilities Lead and model a warm, engaging, and informative guest experience, guiding guests through beverage offerings and answering questions Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Collaborate with Dining Room Manager and kitchen team on seasonal cocktail and mocktail menus using farm-grown, preserved, and locally sourced ingredients Work with Dining Room Manager to maintain rotating beer list Oversee bar setup, maintenance, and breakdown; ensure bar and storage areas are clean, organized, and well-stocked Assist with beverage inventory, including, receiving, stocking, daily counts, and cost awareness Support, train, and communicate with bar staff and service team to ensure smooth service and alignment with standards Operate and oversee POS and cash handling accurately; communicate special requests to the kitchen as needed Ensure compliance with all food safety protocols and Vermont Department of Liquor Control regulations Represent and share the Philo Ridge Farm story with guests; collaborate with management and assist with dining room operations as needed Prepare and batch cocktails according to established recipes, independently monitoring inventory levels to ensure adequate supply for service. Qualifications Minimum 2 year of bartending experience with strong customer service and cash-handling skills Must have a certificate of completion for Vermont First-Class Server Training or be able to provide it before the first day of work Strong knowledge of food, cooking techniques, and beverage pairing Commitment to delivering exceptional guest service Professional, punctual, and reliable, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong work ethic with attention to detail, time management, and multitasking abilities Team-oriented self-starter who can work independently and adapt to changing priorities Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with the ability to stay organized under pressure Willing and available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Knowledge of food safety and health regulations Experienced with POS systems, cash handling, and standard restaurant equipment Physically capable of standing or walking for extended periods, lifting and moving up to 50 pounds, and working in a range of indoor and outdoor conditions Compensation philoridgefarm.org 2766 Mt.
