Job Description:
Hillside Resort is seeking an experienced and motivated Bar Manager to lead our bar operations. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily bar service, managing staff, maintaining inventory, ensuring compliance with alcohol laws, and delivering a high-quality guest experience.

The ideal candidate is organized, energetic, and experienced in bartending and team leadership. We are looking for someone who can create a positive team culture while maintaining strong operational standards in a fast-paced lake environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily bar operations and service standards

• Hire, train, and schedule bartenders and bar staff

• Maintain liquor, beer, and wine inventory

• Manage vendor relationships and place orders

• Monitor cost control, shrink, and waste

• Ensure compliance with all state and local alcohol laws

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar areas

• Develop drink features, seasonal menus, and promotions

• Handle cash management and POS accuracy

• Address guest concerns professionally and promptly

• Collaborate with restaurant management on events and specials

Qualifications:

• Previous bartending experience required

• Prior management or supervisory experience preferred

• Strong knowledge of beer, wine, and craft cocktails

• Experience with inventory management and ordering

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and peak seasons

• Reliable and dependable

• Must meet legal age requirements to serve alcohol in South Dakota

Schedule & Compensation:
Full-time position. Hours will vary depending on season and business demand.
Compensation is based on experience, including bar management, inventory oversight, and leadership background.
