Job Summary

Altura Concepts is seeking dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented Barbacks to support bar operations across our family of full-service restaurants, lounges, and fast-casual concepts. Barbacks play a vital role in ensuring bartenders have the tools, products, and support needed to deliver exceptional guest experiences. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar while contributing to efficient daily operations. The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Stock and replenish liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and bar supplies throughout each shift.
• Assist bartenders by anticipating operational needs to ensure efficient and timely guest service.
• Prepare fresh garnishes, juices, syrups, and other bar ingredients according to company standards.
• Refill ice bins and maintain adequate supplies at all bar stations.
• Change beer kegs and assist with beverage equipment as needed.
• Collect, wash, polish, and restock glassware to maintain a continuous supply.
• Remove empty bottles, trash, recyclables, and used bar supplies throughout service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, storage areas, walk-ins, and service stations.
• Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing beverage deliveries.
• Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low-stock items.
• Support bartenders during high-volume service by responding quickly to requests.
• Complete opening, side work, and closing duties as assigned.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent Altura Concepts with integrity and professionalism.
• Work collaboratively with bartenders, servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Barback, restaurant support staff, or in hospitality is preferred but not required.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
• Current TABC Certification or ability to obtain before employment.
• Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain if required by local regulations.

Preferred Skills

• Basic knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails.
• Experience stocking inventory and maintaining organized work areas.
• Ability to anticipate bartender and guest needs.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds, including cases of liquor, beer, ice, kegs, and bar supplies.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb, push, and pull throughout the workday.
• Ability to move quickly and safely in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as business demands require.
