Barback - Quarterdeck

Position Summary:

The Barback supports the bar team in delivering exceptional, timely, and seamless service to guests. This role is responsible for maintaining bar cleanliness, organization, and stock levels while assisting bartenders to ensure efficient operations. The Barback plays a critical role in upholding Forbes Travel Guide service standards and creating a polished, professional bar environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Stock and replenish bar inventory including liquor, beer, wine, glassware, garnishes, and supplies
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar areas, including counters, storage areas, and service stations
• Assist bartenders with preparing garnishes, juices, and bar setup/breakdown
• Remove used glassware and barware in a timely and efficient manner
• Ensure ice bins are consistently filled and maintained
• Support timely service by anticipating bartender and guest needs
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance of the bar at all times
• Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries as needed
• Uphold resort and Forbes Travel Guide standards of service, professionalism, and presentation
• Work collaboratively with bartenders, servers, and leadership to ensure a seamless guest experience

Qualifications:

• Previous barback, food & beverage, or hospitality experience preferred but not required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to anticipate needs and work proactively
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels

Work Environment:

• Indoor and outdoor bar and restaurant environment
• Exposure to varying temperatures, including heat and humidity
• Fast-paced, guest-focused hospitality setting
