Barbacks also assist with opening and closing duties, and may help with customer questions or requests.
Core Responsibilities:
Restocking and Stock Management:
Replenishing liquors, mixers, garnishes, ice, glassware, napkins, and other bar supplies. This includes monitoring stock levels and ensuring everything is readily available for bartenders.
Cleaning and Maintaining Bar Area:
Washing and storing glasses, tools, and equipment. Maintaining cleanliness by cleaning counters, tables, and floors. Handling spills and broken glass.
Garnish Preparation:
Preparing and replenishing garnishes like fruits, herbs, and other items used to decorate drinks.
Customer Service Support:
Answering customer questions, assisting with placing orders, and handling minor customer issues.
Opening and Closing Procedures:
Assisting with setting up the bar before opening and breaking down after closing, including organizing supplies and cleaning.
Other Support Tasks:
Assisting bartenders with various tasks, such as collecting empty glasses, setting up for special events, and handling kegs.
