Description
Barista Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Prepare and serve a variety of specialty beverages including coffee, tea, and espresso-based drinks
- Follow provided recipes and use proper preparation techniques
- Serve prepared food items and baked goods
- Greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner
- Clean and sanitize work areas, seating areas, equipment, and tools
- Maintain inventories by replenishing coffee, stocking supplies, and providing Supervisor with ordering needs daily
- Use of POS for order entries, process credit card and cash payments.
- Follow health and safety guidelines and procedures
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Barista Qualifications
- At least 1 year of serving in a fast-paced food and beverage venue
- Knowledge of specialty beverages such as coffee, tea and espresso-based drinks
- Previous experience operating espresso and coffee machines preferred.
- Must speak fluent English, other languages preferred.
- Must be courteous, pleasant, and good natured.
- Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests, bartender, wait staff, cooks, and supervisors.
- Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
- Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when taking orders, completing paperwork, etc.
- Basic math skills are frequently used when handling cash and credit.
- Able to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
The Barista position requires the ability to perform the following:
- Handling, carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds (bar ware, carts, boxes, bottles, etc.).
- Must be able to efficiently and safely stand and move about the entire facility during each shift.
- Bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting.
Compensation: The compensation for this position is $6.05 per hour plus tips.
